ZoomAtlas is the place to go to reconnect with people from your past. To celebrate our first half-million users, ZoomAtlas is holding a contest, with the grand prize of a $10,000 reunion including food, drink, entertainment, and even $50 travel vouchers for up to 100 attendees. No purchase is necessary.

Have fun and good luck!
  • Contest begins on July 29, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. ET and closes at 11:59 p.m. ET, December 31, 2010.
  • Winning teams will be announced at 3 pm ET on January 31, 2011. The number of total winning teams will be one (1) grand prize winner and (1) second place winner and (1) third place winner.
  • The grand prize winning team will receive up to $5,000 towards a reunion party, covering venue rental, food, drinks, and entertainment. Additionally, the 100 highest scoring members of the grand prize team will each receive a $50 cash card which can be used for travel or lodging when attending the event. If the grand prize team has fewer than 100 members, the unused $50 cash cards may be used towards venue rental, food, drinks, or entertainment.
  • The second place winning team will receive $1,000 towards a reunion party, covering venue rental, food, and drinks.
  • The third place winning team will receive $500 towards a reunion party, covering venue rental, food, and drinks.
  • Any overrage in the cost of the reunions will be the responsibility of the individual attendees.
  • The individual which forms a team becomes that team's administrator.
  • The administrators of the three winning teams are responsible for working with ZoomAtlas in selecting the date and location of their respective reunion parties.
  • Each team is centered around a physical location, like a school, college, university, dorm, town, neighborhood, summer camp, house of worship, employer, etc. Family reunion teams may be formed around a single address where the reunion will be held.
  • At most one team will be allowed to form at any given location.
  • To participate on a team, a team member must register on ZoomAtlas or link to their Facebook account using Facebook Connect.
  • Each team member must be a real human being. Multiple entries by the same person using different aliases will result in disqualification of that user.
  • Multiple notes of the same type, at the same location, and by the same individual will only be counted once.
  • Fraudulent notes, teams, team memberships, or any other activity related to the contest will not be counted toward a user's score.
  • Repeated fraudulent activity by an individual user will result in disqualification of that user. Points and activity from disqualified users will not be counted toward team scores.
  • Teams with patterns of abuse and fraudulent activity will be disqualified.
  • ZoomAtlas, at its sole discretion, will determine whether any user or team has engaged in fraudulent activity. All decisions by ZoomAtlas are final.
  • Actions including, but not limited to, the following:
    • Obscene or hateful text or images
    • Repeated identical activity intending to increase one's score
    • Trivial note postings or other activity
    • Meaningless note postings
    • Teams formed with a majority of inactive members
    • Destructive actions
    • Shall be considered fraudulent
  • When selecting winning teams, ties shall be broken based on the earliest team to be formed.
  • In the case of tied individual scores (when awarding the $50 cash cards), preference will be given based on the earliest to join the team.
  • Failure by the Team Captain to respond to the direct message to claim the prize within thirty days of winner announcements, will result in that prize (and each lower prize) being passed to the next highest-scoring teams.
  • Failure by any individual cash card winner to provide a current mailing address within thirty days of winner announcements, will result in that prize (and each lower-scoring individuals prizes) being passed to the next highest-scoring individual on that team.
  • Only one (1) prize per team and one cash card per individual. You need not be present to win. No substitutions allowed for any prizes. Acceptance of a prize or attendance at a winning party constitutes the participant's approval to all of ZoomAtlas's publicity and advertising rights.
  • ZoomAtlas will verify all winning entries and award all prizes. The decision of ZoomAtlas Management is final.
  • ZoomAtlas and affiliates, vendors, employees, contractors, immediate family members and members of their household are not eligible to participate in this contest.

Scoring

Your Individual Score is the sum of points from the following categories:
  • Early Join Bonus - Every user receives a bonus for joining a team. The bonus shall start at 150 points for users who join a team on July 29, 2010. The size of this bonus goes down by one point every day. Once a user joins a team they may not switch teams later.
  • Facebook Bonus - 50 Points. ZoomAtlas works best when you link to your Facebook account. In addition to eliminating the need to remember another password, linking to Facebook lets you share your activity with your Facebook friends and easily recruit new team members...and earns you 50 points!
  • Fan Bonus - 50 Points. Become a fan ("Like") the ZoomAtlas Facebook page. Note you must earn the Facebook Bonus first, or we will not know that you "Liked" us.
  • I Was Here Notes - 10 Points each note. This is the most-common note posted on the ZoomAtlas map. You post these notes at places you've lived, worked, went to school, or hung out. The easiest way to post these notes is via the Post Note page (for single notes) or the LifePath Wizard Page (for multiple notes), but you may also post notes directly on The Map page.
  • I'm Looking For Notes - 5 Points each note. Post these notes at the old homes, schools, workplaces, and hangouts of your missing friends. Each note that gets posted is indexed by the major search engines, significantly increasing the probability of finding your missing friend...and guaranteeing the awarding of 5 extra points.
  • Discuss Notes - 4 Points each note. Want to discuss something about a location? These general discussion notes are fast and easy to post. The Team Discussion Board on the Contest Page are all Discuss Notes posted to your team's reunion location.
  • Invitation Notes - 4 Points each note. Send a ZoomAtlas email invitaion to a friend right from their old house! These notes can be posted from the main Contest page.
  • Photo Notes - 20 Points each note. Upload an old or current photo of any location and time period! These notes can be posted from The Map page.
  • Category Limit - You can earn no more than 1,000 points in any of the above categories.
  • Wall Posting Invites - Invite all your Facebook friends by posting an invitation to your Wall. Every Facebook friend which connects via Facebook and joins your team (before December 26, 2010) earns your team an Early Join Bonus plus the Facebook Bonus.
  • Active User Bonus - 100 Points. Win the trifecta by earning the Facebook Bonus, the Fan Bonus, and posting two notes, and you will be tagged as an Active member. This earns you 100 points plus counts towards your team's Active Bonus (described below).

Your Team Score is the sum of points from the following categories:
  • Member Score - The sum of all team member scores.
  • Active Team Bonus - This can be huge! Your first active user earns your team 1 point in this category. Second active user earns two points. Third earns three. Sound's like a big yawn? Well, it isn't. Do the math and you'll see that 200 active users will earn your team 20,000 extra points in this category alone. Add to that the 100 points that each of these 200 individuals will get for becoming Active, and you will see your team score go up by more than 40,000 points!
  • State Bonus - Have your members lived a lot of places? Your team gets awarded 10 points for each state where your members have lived, as indicated in their notes...up to the first 10 states. Then, your team gets 50 points for each additional state.

Note: ZoomAtlas reserves the right to add new scoring categories at its own discretion, provided 24 hour notice is posted to this page.
