ZoomAtlas Launches $10,000 Reunion Contest
Geo-social networking website celebrates a half million users by launching a contest to help reconnect people with friends and family from past


07.29.2010 - BOSTON - July 29, 2010 - In celebration of reaching a half million users, ZoomAtlas, a geo-social networking website, today announced the launch of a Reunion Contest through which reunion teams will compete to win $10,000 towards a reunion party. Participating teams will complete various tasks to earn points and the team with the most points will be the grand prize winner of the contest, which will be announced Jan. 31, 2011.

The contest is open to individuals interested in having a reunion of any kind, including family reunions, high school reunions, college reunions, neighborhood reunions, workplace reunions, summer camp reunions, military reunions, and more. Reunion teams are formed around a physical location on the ZoomAtlas map that is of significance to the reunion group.s past, such as a school, college, town, neighborhood, summer camp, house of worship or place of employment.

To participate in the contest, individuals create or join a reunion team on the contest page, and then start earning points by recruiting new team members and posting "I was here" and "I am looking for..." notes. Teams can also earn bonus points for: Points are awarded to reunion teams automatically, and teams can track their progress, view team rankings and collaborate with team members using the discussion board on the contest page. Team members must be registered on ZoomAtlas or link to their Facebook account using Facebook Connect. Team members who are already active users of ZoomAtlas will be awarded points for their past activity on ZoomAtlas.

The Reunion Contest will run from July 29 to Dec. 31, 2010. The grand prize winner will receive a $10,000 award to be applied towards food, drinks, venue rental and entertainment for the reunion party as well as travel vouchers for the top scoring team members. The second place team will receive $1,000 and the third place team will receive $500 towards a reunion party, covering venue rental, food, and drinks. SCORING TIPS & TRICKS
  • Form your team around a location of importance for you and your friends.
  • Invite as many people as possible to join your team. Each new member earns an Early Join Bonus.
  • Link your registration via Facebook Connect using the "Connect With Facebook" button. Encourage other team members to do so.
  • Post LOTS of relevant notes on the ZoomAtlas map. Include old homes, hangouts, schools, places you worked, summer camps, etc.
  • The My LifePath Wizard helps you post dozens of important notes in a few minutes.
  • Earn the 100 point Active Bonus - Just link to Facebook, become a Facebook Fan, and post at least two relevant notes at different locations.
  • Encourage your teammates to do all of the above. The best-scoring teams have relatively few members, but each member is very active.
